We use this to mount a 360 camera (in a metal cage) to an outside strut on a biplane. For those purposes, I would never trust a plastic mount. We still have a safety cable in case anything lets go (even up to the camera cage) but it has never failed. It is fairly easy to mount, especially if you watch their YouTube videos first.
